Most of the habitable regions of Dromis are tropical in climate and very extensively terraformed. It was one of the two worlds settled four centuries ago during the Great Arrival of the Crux Australis, the other being its sister moon Cissetta.
The people of Dromis are known for their patriotic and militaristic ways. Though their loyalty to the Confederation has strengthened over the last century, there is still strong support for their local military forces. Despite the belligerent leanings of the government, the Dromians still present that strangely laid-back attitude which is a trademark of the Crucian culture. It is partly thanks to this attitude, and partly thanks to the myriad idyllic tropical islands of the world, that Dromis’ economy thrives on tourism.
The planet does not have any visible native life, with most of its flora and fauna seeded from DNA samples carried aboard the Crux Australis. Nevertheless, some microbiological marine life was present prior to colonization and rumours persist of intelligent native life below the ocean.
